Sponge cake with chocolate chips

  • 4 eggs
  • 350 g sugar
  • 300 g of milk
  • 250 g of olive oil
  • 450 g plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • A little bit of salt
  • butter for greasing the pan
  • chocolate chips
  • a lot of LOVE


A large bowl, blender and a large mold!


We separate the yolks from the whites. In a bowl we beat the yolks with the sugar until well dissolved. Add the oil, a pinch of salt and milk (back to beat).

Mix the flour with baking powder and then add it to the mixture.

NOTE: This step is important to mix carefully! We do not want lumps.

We set the point clear of snow and add to the bowl, mixing gently. Finally, we add the chocolate chips (or cut it, as in our case we did home made XXL chocolate chips) and toss the dough in pan (PREVIOUSLY buttered).

180º in the oven about 45 -50 minutes, depending on the oven (Everyone has their stories). Check with a stick if it is ready (if the stick is clean).

Put aside for 30 minutes and … ready to eat!


We opted for coverage with sugar glaze and cover with colored sugar chips!
